Founded by a former carpenter (and with some help from her high school friend), we bring decades of hands-on experience and a reputation for solid work. Our jobs run big—$50K and up—and we manage every project with the same care we’d put into our own homes.

From foundation to final walk-through, we work with trusted subcontractors, clear communication, and detailed progress billing that keeps you in the loop—not in the dark.

Michelle – Co-Founder / Lead Contractor
Michelle got her start in the trades as a carpenter and quickly realized she had the grit—and the eye—for running full-scale builds. She founded Nail and Notch to create a contracting company that values craftsmanship, clear communication, and fair work. She’s on site, in the details, and always pushing for better.

Mike – Project Operations
Mike handles the back end of big jobs—keeping subs aligned, timelines moving, and clients updated. He and Jessica have been friends since high school, and their trust and teamwork show up in every project. Mike brings a cool head, strong spreadsheets, and a don’t-mess-with-the-schedule mentality to the team.
